About San Diego Digital Forensics

SDDF expert consultants have all had Secret or Top Secret clearances for their employment with their government agencies. Our consultants are trained to "government standards." Training has include courses conducted by: the US Department of the Treasury; the Department of Homeland Security, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI); Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), FBI Computer Analysis Response Team (CART); National White Collar Crime Center (NWC3); and, the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists (IACIS).

Two of the SDDF founders (Rusty and Jim) were involved in the creation, development and writing of the policies and procedures for the San Diego Regional Computer Forensics Laboratory (RCFL), which became the role model for the FBI's national computer forensic program. They conducted numerous digital forensic investigations for federal, state and local criminal cases. They have also been guest lecturers at Thomas Jefferson School of Law, the San Diego Electronically Stored Information Forum, and the San Diego Law Library.

Our expert consultants have extensive training and industry recognized certifications including: Guidance Software - Encase (ENCE), Access Data - Forensic Tool Kit (ACE), IACIS-CFCE, A+, Net+, Cellebrite (CCO, CCPA), X1 Social Discovery, BlackBag (CBE), MCSA, and DFCB.

San Diego Digital Forensic consultants have the experience to go along with their training; conducting hundreds of forensic examinations of Windows, Apple, Linux, cellular phone systems, mobile devices, networks and servers for both criminal and civil cases.

Our consultants also have extensive experience in documenting and testifying as computer forensic experts. Courtroom experience includes federal, state, military, and foreign government cases.
